Pit Bike Racing in 2017

Pit Bike Racing in 2017

Calling all big kids with little bikes!  Did you know that OCCRA will be adding four pit bike classes to the Saturday Short Course bike race this spring?  That’s right, you can now take that mini dirt bike back away from your kid and ride it yourself!  Just kidding, of course, we don’t want you snatching your young racer’s race machine, but we do have a place for you to bring your own mini moto for some offroad racing action!  Minimum age is 16 to race these classes – these classes are for the big kids!

The pit bike classes will consist of:

  • Outlaw – The craziest of the crazy!  This class is for the highly modded bikes with a maximum 14″ front/12″ rear wheel.
  • Mad Dog – We’re talking air cooled, slightly larger wheels allowed (max 19″ front/16″ rear) and a few normal bike mods.
  • 12 inch – This is the larger-wheel option for the stock bikes.  Think KLX/DRZ/CRF/TTR 110/90 with no mods.
  • 10 inch – If you really like being close to the ground, here’s the class for you.  This class is designed around CRF/Z50, DRZ50, TTR50, and alike bikes with no modification.

So what are you waiting for?  Drag those mini bikes out and sign up on Saturday for 30 minutes of good clean fun.  We’re running this as a 3-round trial series so we’re looking for riders to make sure it “takes” for the whole season.  Get all of the finer details on the classes page.
