Rd 2: Crosstimbers
Crosstimbers Riding Area is publicly owned by the city of Oklahoma City and encompasses over 960 acres of ever-growning riding area. The area is managed by the Crosstimbers Riding Association.
The riding area consists of four trails: green, red, blue and black.
Green Trail - This trail is open to motorcycles and ATVs and is very beginner friendly. The trail is generally two track or wider and has every condition from hardpack to loose, sandy whoops. The Green Trail also encompasses the grass track.
Red Trail - The Red Trail is the second newest trail and is open part of the year to ATVs. The Red Trail has some elevation change and has a tighter layout overall.
Blue Trail - The Blue Trail, sometimes called West Elm, is similar to the Red Trail in difficulty with the exception that the trail is single-track only and is tighter in most areas.
Black Trail - The Black Trail is the newest trail at Crosstimbers and is considered an "expert only" trail. The trail is very long and has many elevation changes and many technical sections. Regular challenges are presented, including log crossings, artificial obstacles such as tires (can be bypassed), rocky uphills and steep downhills.
The OCCRA race at this location will include the Red, Blue and Green trails and will start in the field that sits alongside the Blue trail (see directions below).
