We now head east for our second visit to the Henryetta Offroad Track and Trails (HOTT). We didn’t get a really good look at this place last year because mother nature turned it into a slip and slide on Sunday. But, if you rode a quad or made it to Saturday practice, you’ll know that this track had a little bit of everything from challenging hills to loamy dirt to mild motocross and a good selection of rocks.
This year’s track has all of the fun stuff with the addition of even more pavement scattered in as well as a bridge crossing and other cool features.
Here’s what Assistant Track Director Jason LaHood has to say about the track:
The track is laid out and this year we will be headed all the way around the lake. We’ll start on the east grass of the lake and return on the sandy beach to the scoring trailer. Five trail sections are separated by four blasts of speed down the paved park roads. You probably won’t want to be running new rubber out back on this one, ‘cuz it’ll be gone! The overall feel of the track is fast and flowing. We had to removed several sections from last year, simply because they are rutted from last year’s rain race and need time to heal. Being an April race with the potential for rain, we removed the big rocky uphills and tried to keep it safe and passable for all riders regardless of the weather. Arrowing will be done in a way to allow multiple lines and getting just off the original track to make smoother lanes. A lot of work has been put into this track by multiple people, and we really hope you like it. Thank you to Billy, Quinton , Garret, and Greg for their hard work.
Now since Jason was last there, Billy and Greg headed back out to Henryetta and put in yet more hours adding some fun hill climbs and descents back into the track. Fun stuff ahead! The track length should be around 6 miles after their additions.
Concession at Round 4 will be provided by Mona’s Rose of Sharon (get the a fried pie!!) and Rustler’s BBQ.
HOTT XC is generously sponsored by Ram Jack of Ada. They are the title sponsor of the race and also are sponsoring holeshot awards for the mini bikes! We would also like to thank B&H Engraving and Amsoil for providing additional mini holeshot and selective adult class awards. Our sponsors rock!
Round 4 will also feature a SxS Race and a night race for motorcycles and ATVs. Get the info on those races at Twilight Team and; UTV Mini-Series.
Notice that there are some changes on this flyer. In order to accommodate the special events, long course bike practice will start at 2:15 p.m. and will end at 5:30 p.m. Special event races will start after that.
