Crosstimbers Riding Area, Draper Lake OKC
Draper lake has been a hub for dirt bike enthusiasts for generations.
With the Oklahoma City initiative to turn the northern portion of the lake
into a more profitable area, the riding area many in the OKC area grew up on
was closed on May 1, 2005. The Okie Dirt Riders and Crosstimbers Riders
Association have worked in conjunction with the city in order to acquire a
new riding area at West Elm Creek. The new riding area is a premiere
riding area for ORV enthusiasts not just for its trails, but also the
careful planning of the loading/unloading areas and other facilities
provided for the riders. It is being developed in stages but at the
current capacity, it has a mini track for the little guys and people
learning to ride. It has a motocross area that is coming to life.
It also has a series of trails set up for everyone from the beginner to the
most advanced.
