Clearly define the job title of each Officer position. Develop a job description for each position. Enter information into Section X as an Appendix to the rulebook.

Automatic promotions after 4 (first or second place finishes) in your class until the rider is in the top class. If four (first or second-place finishes) occur in the first half of the season you move up immediately. If accumulated first or second-place finishes occur after the second half of the season promotions will be the following year.
Run a Pro Class for the Open short course and make all adult short courses 1 hour. Adult Pit quad class that will run the Pee Wee track 30-minute race hopefully this will keep people at the track for the day as well as gain revenue for entry fees. Have an actual ceremony for awards instead of people going to pick up awards and leave. This will allow winners and racers to acknowledge the sponsors and vendors that help them. This will occur immediately following the Adult Pit Quad Race. Pee Wee needs a max CC now with 110’s coming online.

  1. In 2023 rule 6.2.2.5 removed first responders to which I believe needs to be reinstated to Include first responders as well as military personnel for the work point bonus. The rule reads – 6.2.2.5 Work Bonus: Racers who wish, may choose to work one race per season in lieu of racing. You must work the day your race is normally scheduled on. If you chose to work on the opposite day your race is on a $15 fee will apply. If you have two races on the same day the second work day can be either day free of charge. Racers completing their Work Bonus earn 35 points for that race. To earn the Work Bonus, the racer must sign in/out with the Race Work Director, and work the entire day. Derelict workers will not receive a Work Bonus. Members of the armed forces or “line thru first responders” [2023] may substitute their service weekend for their OCCRA work weekend. To receive credit for military or emergeney service [2023], the member must notify the work director prior to their race start and present evidence of service (orders, etc.) to the Work Directorprior to the next race. Use the contact form on OCCRA.com. The Work Bonus is not available for Mini Racers. Note: The Work Bonus is MANDATORY to qualify for a Season Award. [2022] The reason I believe first responders should be included is due to our work schedule. Our schedule is 24hours on Duty, 48hours off duty, majority of classes offered that are hands on training offered to full time or volunteer first responders fall on the weekends alone wkth the In 2023 rule 6.2.2.5 removed first responders to which I believe needs to be reinstated to Include first responders as well as military personnel.
  2. 2023 rule change – Removed first responders from the rule about getting work points with a valid work release, with prior notice to work director, see section 6.2.2.5, now applies to only military personnel. 3. The reason I believe first responders should be included is due to our work schedule and most first responders training classes are offered on the weekend only. Our schedule is 24hours on Duty, 48hours off duty. The majority of classes offered that are actually physical drills /training offered to full time or volunteer first responders fall on the weekends. If I needed to take a class such as Vehicle extrication,Live Fire Training , Calling a Mayday, Responding to a mayday ,Advanced fire behavior, Vent Enter Isolate Search these are just a short list of the classes offered on weekend, first responders could possibly miss out on a training opportunity or championship verse getting work points that could be applied in there place.

I propose we eliminate the site lap before the Saturday bike race to allow for more time. I fell that we need to split up the SBR race into 2 30 minute races and the only way to do that is to shorten the races. One race would be A&B bikes, and the other the remaining bikes. The race has become too crowded with too many bikes on the track and too many lines, that sometimes results in some racers being lapped their first lap. If we eliminated the Safety lap we would have a better shot to start the races on time. To also help with time and to be fair I think we should shorten the adult quad Short course down to 30 minutes as well.
This proposal would be the removal or modification of the following current rules. 6.1.1 Event Weekend, 7. Both race days include a Safety Lap and/or Practice Session to familiarize the rider with the course prior to racing. 6.1.5 Safety, 6. A practice period the day prior to the race, or safety lap the day of, is usually provided. Each racer is urged to familiarize oneself with the course prior to the race.

I propose a age limit on strider races so there isn’t kids just running with the bike under them and lapping younger kids. At one race a kid just held the bike under him and ran ages. 2-3 3-4 could do split classes for different ages with 4 years old being max age limit but can be bumped out if they are just running with the bike not even siting. The purpose was for kids to learn balance on them and not have a track day

A race should be 2 hours long. Harescrambles are endurance races and having to possibly strategize a fuel stop is part of it. Most series premier race is 2 hours and ours should be too.

Ryan Smith

I propose all starts be dead engine starts. Except for the peewee or 50class.

I propose Facebook bashing and / or causing drama results in 1 year ban from Facebook. If it continues, permanent ban.

Don Bailey

I would like have voting to be online so it will be finalized in time for banquet. That way we can already have rule in place for the members.

Don Bailey

I propose we have business cards with race dates like we have around 5 years ago. They were fold up cards with dates and locations. I can show the card if needed.

Ryan Smith

All starts will be dead engine starts And cannot be changed by an officer at the line or anytime during the season. This would eliminate so much confusion. Just make it a rule just like every other xc series in this country.

I want to suggest a structured, advancing penalty system based on a rider’s experience and the number of offenses. An easy example of how to produce these penalties would be to lose a place rather than a time penalty which affects different groups of racers differently. In one group, 2 minutes might cost a rider everything and in another, it might not affect the rider much. A beginning OCCRA Racer may lose one place for their first offense, two places for their second offense, and three for their third offense. Any additional offenses in a season will cause them to finish at the bottom of the pack. An intermediate racer may lose two places for their first offense, three places for their second offense, and four places for their third offense. Any additional offenses in a season will cause them to forfeit that race. An experienced racer may lose three places for their first offense, four places for their second offense, and five places for their third offense. Any additional offenses in a season will cause them to forfeit that race. This is just an example of how it could be structured. I just feel like it is only fair to the scoring director and to the competitors to have a structured penalty system set irrefutably in black and white. I would suggest participation in less than one full season’s races (whether that be in one season or across many seasons) to indicate a beginning rider. Participation in more than one season, but less than three seasons could be an intermediate rider, and participation in three seasons or more could be an expert rider. Again, these are suggestions that can be adjusted to a more realistic approach as indicated by the BOD and membership body.

Dennis Fullbright

I would to change the peewee quad 4stroke cc limit to 110, the reason for this is the parents can buy 1 machine and have it built suspension wise and be competitive from peewee to mini b and once they hit mini b they could bore the 110 to a 125 or put a 125cc on that already built machine that your kid is accustomed to, it would cut parent’s costs substantially from having to be a new machine every 2-4 years as most 110-150cc motors will interchange in most of todays frames and some people can’t afford to buy a new machine or multiple machines

I would like to propose that the arrow system be simplified. For example, do away with the 90 and 45 arrows. These 2 arrows always cause conflict in our series vs other racing organizations. By doing this it will allow the track to develop better lines and create a nature flow. This would also make it easier for other racers from different race organizations to race with us, and less likely to be penalized and not understand why. All the 90 and 45 arrows do is penalize the honest racers. There would be less penalties and or protests to worry about and less conflict for the race officers to worry about. If it’s about making people go a certain direction than banner could be used in place of a 90 or 45.

Nathaniel Beck

I propose that we add a trail rider class to SC quad for those who want to come and try racing or day riders so that it does not affect the points/standings of our SC C class.

Nathaniel Beck

I propose that we switch the order and schedule for Saturday quad races. I feel like the mini quads should race before the SC quads and that we can race like GNCC/NYOA where the women and youth riders race the “am” race with the SC quad racers. That would make an “am” and “pm” race and leave a bit more room between races for logistics/rider meetings. See attachment

Nathaniel Beck

I am suggesting that we change the way we conduct our “riders meeting.” I feel that it would work better to invest in a sound system for the starting line and riders meetings should be conducted on the start line as all racers will be present and any pertinent information can be passed to them there regarding safety, track conditions, etc. This would also allow music to be played at the starting line, which I feel would be a great addition to the race atmosphere for riders and spectators alike.

Nathaniel Beck

I propose that rider numbers start with the number line they race in. Example, if I start on the fourth row, my number would start with a number 4, and be backed with a white background. First “pro” row riders would be the exception and could choose whichever number they like and have a red background behind their number. This makes it easy to identify which riders are in your class for organizational purposes and while racing. See attachment

Tanner Myers

This might be more of an operational change and probably will get voted down but I believe we should make the a A race the be the last race of the day so the A race gets the more challenging track and you race at the same time every race.

Nathanael Darnell

I think that a situation that causes harm such as a fight or threats toward another member and or an officer should result in an automatic suspension from the club for at least 3 races.

Kysen Linnet

I think that we should do live starts we did on the last race of last season and I loved it and it made the start more interesting.
