2024 Rd 06 at Frederick Lake

Ok OCCRA family, we are just over 24 hours from the gates opening at a BRAND NEW LOCATION – Frederick Lake!  This property is owned by the city of Frederick and let’s say that they are super excited to be hosting this race.  Let’s show them our best gratitude for letting us experience their park by having an amazing time, enjoying the park amenities, leaving the park spotless and by spreading the word about Frederick’s awesome spot!

Now to the race – we have a great, fast track with lots of sweeping turns and fun elevation change.  You should have plenty of room to pass and won’t have to worry about many rocks this go round (although there are a few).  Enjoy the lake views as you race, but don’t let your eyes stray from the track too long because there are plenty of fun hills and drops to keep you on your toes.  Although the track doesn’t have too many “gotchas” off of the center of the track, there are some “poke yas” in the form of sage trees and cacti – so don’t go bailing off that bike just for fun.

There is plenty of room to park and there are even some spots with water and electric available on a first come, first serve basis.  These spots are $22/night and the fee will be collected by the park ranger.  Don’t forget those water toys as there is plenty of wonderful lakefront to access the water for swimming, fishing, floating, etc.

There are a few extra rules to note for this location that have been requested by the city to maintain the beauty of their park and promote a safe atmosphere.

• Fires are allowed in ELEVATED pits and grills or in the provided fire rings (they are all over the place).  Do not dig fire holes or create fires on the grass.
