Hey guys, thought I would give out a little info on the next round at Hallum Ranch. I will try to get a video up in a couple of days, but until then here are a few things we will bring to the plate. As a crow flies, we are 3.9 miles east of Fry Lake, or about a 6 minute drive on Highway 9 to the East. All black top road except for the last 1/8 mile where it turns to county gravel just before pulling into the gate. I should note that St Crispin’s hill is between us and Fry Lake so there is a slight terrain change. Lots of loamy dirt with some rocks that we had to hunt down. An intermediate tire will do well. We do have a small amount of sand at the creek crossing but its not like you are in it long. There will be a lot of “under the canopy” riding through the timber. I would like to point out that we’ve been trimming out the face slappers for the last two months. We have added a couple of open areas for those that like to chance a pass in the open. We have two hard lines with an easy bypass for those that choose to use it. Each of these will create only a few seconds disadvantage. As for parking. Bring your big rigs if you got em. We will open three pastures to parking. All large and mostly flat. Lots of room, feel free to circle the wagons. One of the amenities will be FISHING. Campsite #2 and #3 will have a fishing pond within walking distance. On the land we have open to OCCRA there will be 7 to 9 ponds that you can fish. Three of them will keep the kids busy shaking fish off the hook. I use a #2 Mepps rooster tail with the barbs pinched shut to get them off the hook faster. One of them was stocked with channel cat about 10 years ago, but you will have to figure out which one. Lol. Note: Lots of gates… if they are closed you will not need to go through. This is a working cattle ranch and I have relocated the cattle to non-racing areas, so please use country boy etiquette. Other than that, come out and have a good time, make the best of it and let me know what I can do to make it better should we be invited back to do this again.
Thanks
